The Afrikakorps failed because there were never enough troops, tanks or supplies to win the battle for Africa!. When it became clear that Africa was lost Hitler suddenly started to send tens of thousands of his soldiers to Africa!. If he had done so two years earlier, Rommel would have marched to Jerusalem!.
Keep in mind that Rommel had only four German divisions!. Montgomery had an whole army!. One might argue that there were many Italian divisions but this would work both ways, because the value of these divisions wasn't that big if it came to fighting!. On the other had these Italian divisions consumed their part of those rare supplies!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
