I can't seem to find much of a REAL answer to this question!. What made it a failure or success!? Why!? What impact did it leave!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It was a success!. In the end, there was no major, direct confrontation with the Soviets, and the Soviet Union succumbed to the pressure in 1991, collapsing!. Containment meant fighting a number of small wars and staying on guard against Soviet moves, and continuing the arms race which eventually became too costly for the Soviets and bankupted them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The policy was a success, unfortunately!. Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan!.!.!.bleh, so many proxy wars fought, so many millions of lives lost because the Americans couldn't handle the thought of Communism being popular!. Bleh!.

It was a success because it took out Soviet Russia, the world's biggest opposition to the US in its time!. I see it as a failure, given the enormous cost in human lives, but whatever!. It mostly accomplished its goals!.

It left the US as the only superpower in the world--or so Americans claim!. Perhaps they're right, or perhaps they're in denial!. xD

U!.S!. containment policy was a policy restricting the spread of Communism in the 1950's!.
It was a sucess, it was a part of the Truman Doctrine, which helped out Greece and Turkey preventing Communism!. The U!.S!. financially helped out Greece and Turkey against Communism!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

But, in my opionion it was an ambivalent success simply because the strategies employed to carry out the containment policies did render the soviet to prostrate!.
