Question: What are the causes of renaissance!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

i have got a project on history saying"RENAISSANCE AND INTELLECTUAL AWAKENING"!.

Well, I would blame the Mongols!. They caused several things that later caused Renaissance!.
1, They invaded Hungary and Poland in 1241, killing more than 100 000 knights from various European countries, mainly Johannites - this was a shot from which European chivalry wasn't able to recover!.
2, Their newly open trade routes allowed Europe to try a lot of foriegn stuff AND ideas!.

THEN!.!.!.the works of Greeks studied by Averroes and much later by Albertus Magnus and his student, Thomas Aquinius!.
Black death!.
Why in Florence!?!?
Probably because of the Medici family, who collected ancient art and philosophical works (these got to Italy from Greece and Minor Asia after the invasion of Turks)

Make the point that the transition to the renaissance is not such a pronounced change; it may be looked at as an ongoing process starting in the high middle ages!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The main reason was that contact with the Arab world- mainly through Spain - brought about a new era of studying ancient classical texts that had been long forgotten in the west!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
