True!.

The worst of the prisons was the Southern prison of Andersonville!.

(Look at my handle!. "Forgive but do not forget" was used by the survivors of the prison to show their willingness to forgive their Southern captors but they would not forget it happened nor would they let it happen again!. This was the start of the prison reform movement in the USA)!.

also, the commander of the Prison was tried for war crimes in how he ran the prison!. He was found guilty and executed!. This also was a first and he is considered the first war criminal tried after a war was over!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
