Sufficed tio say that thousands of African-Americans joined the Union forces and fought with great valor at places like Fort Pillow!. Their committment to the Union cause is even more impressive when you consider that they served only under white officers, and that if captured in battle, they faced the threat of being enslaved or executed out of hand!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
