US began to believe it had the right to intervene anywhere in the world to stop the spread of communism and to protect American interests!.

After WWII, U!.S!. established itself as one of the top world dominant nations!. It's also the start of Cold War (1945-1990) as the war's end exposed the countries' many ideolofical differences - US and USSR (Soviet Union) became the two new superpowers, and they soon became enemies!.

During Truman presidency, containment became the foreign policy with Truman Doctrine as its cornerstone!. The Marshall Plan was also proposed to finacially aid the Western European nations who were weak/volunerable toward Communism; NATO was form in 1949!. Fear of Soviet invasion or subterfuge also led to the creation of the National Security Council and the Central Intelligence Agency!.

Within the nation of US, there were fear of Communist infiltration and subversion reached hysterical proportions!. This gave Senator Joseph McCarthy the perfect opportunity to earn national recognization as McCarthyism became the Red Scare of the 1950s (the second Red Scare)!.

The end of the war also meant the end of wartime production - meaning increase of unemployment and inflation rate!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The only way I could think of is that World War 2 ended the Great Depression in the United States!. When President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) announced that USA will join the war, millions of Americans were hired to work in factories!. With more jobs, the Depression ceased!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
