I have answered this before: I have interviewed former generals (called commissars) of the North Viet Namese Army and they admitted that the Viet Cong/North Viet Namese had lost the war with the Tet Offensive!. They only continued the fight after the American New reported that the U!.S!. Military had been defeated!. Until they saw this in the press they were ready to go for a negotiated peace!.
There was no "grand ideal of the people" involved is you ever spoke to the participants themselves!. This was just another communist dictatorship which, after taking control, murdered somewhere in the number of 1,000,000 innocent civilians!. This of course is common when Communists take over, and always ignored by their supporters in the U!.S!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

AmeriKa LOST the Viet Nam war because the politicians didn't realize that they can NOT win a war against an IDEAL!.!.!. and the Viet Namese were fighting for an ideal!.

The problem is, it's the same thing in Iraq, but since AmeriKans don't know history!.!.!. their own or anyone elses!.!.!. AmeriKa is involved in another war for oil that they can not win!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Democracy is like puberty; you can't force it! You have to let it happen on its own, regardless of how awkward or strange the process may be!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is hard to win a war fought against people in their own country by using military means!. A lesson apparently not learned!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
