Question: What's the big thing that happened in 1984 involving the government or changing history or something!?

I keep seeing all this stuff about 1984 (not just the book, but political stuff) and I'm trying to figure out what this is about!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The book (which was written in 1948) was supposed to predict the world of 1984!. It was off by a good thirty years!.

Most of what you hear outside the book is just hype, but we are progressing into a Big Brother society!. The national ID card is just one step in the plan!.

The corrupt government in 1984 has a department whose sole purpose is to alter history!. The government removed all documentation that had anything to do with the real history and replaced it with the false history of "A great and all powerful Government that had helped save the citizens from a time of great poverty and misjustice!."
