To some extent, both better, and worse!. than they are now!. Mature men respected their wives and supported their roles at home!. Because so many women stayed at home, they came to know each other and each other's children!. They helped each other, socialized with each other, served as Scout Den Mothers, volunteered to work in charitable organizations, etc!. There was much more agreement on child discipline and on teaching children responsibility to themselves and to society!.

There was also a lot of unreported abuse of women and children!. Women who were raped or beaten often had little recourse to help from competent authorities and professionals!.

Whether women are better off now because they have so much greater access to jobs is a mixed bag!. Many of them, like men, have access only to jobs few people want!. So many work not because they want to but because their husbands today cannot afford to support a family on his income alone!.

Women who are good, loving homemakers have always been undervalued!. They should never have to go without quality health care, or without good pensions when they reach retirement age!. They give much to society--giving of themselves, standing in stark contrast to the CEOs, CIOs, CFOs, etc!., who are destroying our economic infrastructure and exploiting human beings at home and abroad!.

Unlike the greedy, ruthless mogul, a woman who has been a patient, loving mother, nurse, counselor, comforter may one day, as a consequence of events beyond her control, be cast on the harsh mercies of our hellish welfare system; some may find themselves in shelters or even homeless!.

Few corporate moguls, however, no matter how much damage they do, will ever want for material prosperity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
