Position:Home>History> Not to sound bad or anything but im wondering??Question: Not to sound bad or anything but im wondering!?!? during World War 2 when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor they Japanese were picked on and seen as a threat so the US put them in internment camps yeah but werent the Germans looked upon as a threat in America too due to the whole Nazism and Adolf Hitler and all that!? so my question is that if they were than how come they werent in any internment camps like the Japanese were!? is it because they Germans were white like the people in America or something else!? just curiousWww@QuestionHome@Com

Not to say that many people weren't suspicious of the loyalties of German-Americans and Italian-Americans!. Residents of the US who were citizens of Axis powers were required to register with the government, so that they could be 'checked up on' when necessary!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Well, first you could argue racism!. Second, the Germans didn't attack us sneakily!. The Japanese did, and there was legitimate fear- since there were Japanese in Hawaii that fed info to Japan!. And there are ALOT more German descendants, and they were demonized in WW1, to the point where many Germans changed their names- including the Royal family of the UK!. But many Germans had fled the Nazi regime, or the chaos after the end of WW1, so they weren't about to betray the US!. The Japanese had always been fiercely loyal to the Emperor, and there was no upheaval that changed the ruling party!. Not saying it was good, just saying it wasn't b/c they were brown necessarily!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It was RACISM pure and simple and to argue otherwise is too misread history!. In fact German POWs were treated better then American N^groes in Uniform! The removal of Japanese from California was orchestrated by business people who were eager to seize theior business & farms so you can factor in greed as well!. If you watch war movies made at the time all sorts of racial slurs were used in Pacific War Movies, no such treatment was dished out against 'Aryan Supermen,' only their politics came into question!.
