Question: Where did the inhibitants of Mexico came from!? Did they came from Spain!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
They were Native American Indians!. Primarily from the Aztec Empire whose capital was Tenochtitlan (modern day Mexico City)!.

The Spanish conquistador Cortez conquered the Aztec Empire with only a few hundred Spanish soldiers and the help of neighboring Indian tribes unfriendly to the Aztec!.

The entire Aztec culture was completely destroyed by the Spanish during their occupation between the 16th and 19th centuries!. During that time the Aztecs were forced to learn Spanish, practice Catholicism and abandon their old customs!. Their ancient churches and cities were destroyed and new catholic temples and European buildings constructed on top!. The Catholics considered Aztec religion heresy and destroyed every religious artifact they could find and killed those who practiced!.

The Spanish seized as much gold and other valuable property as they could and then enslaved many of the Indians and forced them to produce goods not found in Europe such as sugar, tobacco and sweet potatoes for export to Spain!.

Eventually the Indians revolted along with much of South America and Spain began to decline from its status as the most powerful European nation in the 16th century to a second rate power by the 17th and by the 19th century when the Indians declared the independent state of Mexico the Spanish could not stop them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
