Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If a conflict can be constructively resolved by nonviolent means, certainly that is by far the preferred path to take!. Unfortunately, there are bullies on the playground who will take your lunch money if they can and bullies in the world who will take your land if they can!. If the bullies are unresponsive to education, persuasion and negotiation, then more energetic approaches may be necessary to stop their violence against their targets, often the weakest among us!. The problems are that force is easier and more immediately satisfying than more constructive conflict management approaches and that nonviolent assertiveness requires a much more lengthy, proactive strategy that is much less immediately satisfying!. What we need to be teaching, in my view, is how best to mobilize assertive (nonviolent) conflict resolution as a universal community value, then when and where to draw the line beyond which measured intervention is applied to protect individuals and the community from prolonged suffering and possible destruction!. It also helped the Slovak people in the war and changed the attitude of foreign countries towards Slovakia!. And it was an uprising where many people lost their lives!. I think the most important thing is to teach the history how it happened - with its good things as well as the bad things!. In schools they teach us violence is not the answer , but when they teach us about wars , they meant that Negative should be eradicated !.One should fight to kill the darkness but not to kill the lightening!. In schools they only show the path , it all depends on us which path we do selcect!. As they get older, we teach them that sometimes it turns out that violence is the answer even though we don't like it!. Kids aren't little adults, and they need things simple!. As they mature, they can handle more complex thinking!. At least that's the theory!.
