Louis IX made peace with England and launched the seventh crusade!. Phillip the Fair didn't really help france from what I recall!.!.!. he killed Popes, Knights Templars, tovertaxed Jews and devalued the coinage system of France!.!.!.!. I guess you could go with what Wiki says that he did help to bring modernity to the nation of France!.!.!. "His reign marks the French transition from a charismatic monarchy – which could all but collapse in an incompetent reign – to a bureaucratic kingdom, a move towards modernity!."
