From the top of my head:

The Knights of Labor started in 1869, but lost popularity due to the Haymarket bombing which identified unions as anarchists!.

The American Federation of Labor was started in the late 1800s, and that was much more successful!. They were around until the 1830s!.

The Pullman Strike was broken by President Grover Cleveland!.

The Pinkerton's had a violent strike in the U!.S!. Steel industry, Carnegie was able to get Rutherford Hayes to intervene, and set back union's until the Wagner Act of 1935!.

Hope this helps a little!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
