He created the interstate highway system!!Www@QuestionHome@Com In modern times, my choice would clearly be Bill Clinton!. Going further back, many would say JFK or FDR!. But my favorite is Abraham Lincoln!. He ruled at one of the most difficult times in American history!. He had to deal with a Civil War in which the traitors from the south seceded from the nation and formed their own short lived and ill fated country!. They called themselves The Confederate States of America!. His whole presidency was based around a long, bloody and sad war!. The north finally succeeded in beating the south after countless lives were lost!. So many people died because the south decided to break away in order to keep slavery going, among other reasons!. He guided the country through the war and lived to see it reunited when the south surrendered, only to be assassinated a few weeks later by John Wilkes Booth!. He also issued the Emancipation Proclamation which helped to free the slaves!. Besides, his nickname was Honest Abe!. Who ever heard of an honest politician!? But he had that quality which made him a very unusual president!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It depends as it's all opinion based!. FDR for the push to get us going, to lead us, to fight back, etc!. Lincoln for unification, ending slavery on a bill, etc!. There have been many great Presidents who have lead us through times of horror, who gave us light, who enacted great Bills!.
