COLD WAR is a feud between the US & the soviet union that dominated international politics from 1945 to the reformist era of soviet president MIKHAIL GORBACHEV in the late 1980s!. the phrase 'cold war' refers to a state of constant hostility, espionage & counter-espionage which never erupted into a 'HOT' or SHOOTING WAR!.!.!. :O

p/s : GORBACHEV & US president RONALD REAGEN signed a dismament treaty in 1989 designed to end the arms race!. the international cooperation demonstrated in the 1991 GULF WAR was evidence that the cold war was truly over!.!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
