NO!. Rebecca Young actually is noted for making the first American flag!. Betsy Ross was a seamstress who attended the same church as George Washington and was asked (with 3 other ladies) to sew the redesigned flag!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

gorgie knew her and came to ask her to do it!.!.!. originally he wanted a 4 sided stars because he thought 5 would be to hard but betty showed him that the 5 sided star would be easy
