Most of the laws were the same in every state and and every state had them, with California having the harshest punishment!. They all required that anyone found guilty be sentenced to prison most for a period of 2 to 5 years except for California which had a 5 to 10 year jail sentence!. Prior to 1900 many states had castration laws in effect for gays and lesbians were forced to have hysterectomies in addition to jail time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
