Question: What are some examples in modern society of prosecution based only on suspicion with no evidence!?

Either that or persecution!. I'm trying to compare it to the Salem witch trials in the 17th century when many people were accused by children as witches and were hung as a result!. Any ideas of prosecution/persecution in modern society based only on suspicion!? Could be anything from from recent 100 yrs or so!.
