Question: What was the Japanese society and economy during the time of the daimyos!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Japan was controlled by around 200 warlords ("Daimyos" - or "Great Names") ranked on the basis of their area's rice production!.

A feudal society based on a pecking order of who pecks the most at his enemies, the daimyo period which spans almost all of Japan's known history until the 19th century when the provinces were termed as prefectures, was the bloodiest in the region!. It was marked by periodic and ambitious incursions into Manchuria and Korea to loot, and kidnap metallurgists, ceramics potters, and artisans - evidence of which exists in Japanese society today, and exemplified by the artisans on the island of Satsuma!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It was all feudalism!. Another words it was all self sufficient; sort of like what happened to Europe in the middle ages!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
