Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Stalin was as you said a Russian Dictator!. He like other dictators killed people who thretened his power or who he just didn't like!. However Stalin was worse than some of the other dictaors and better than others!. Some other dictators that the world has seen include Hitler, Hussain, Mussalini, Gorbachev among others!. Some of Stalin's good points include helping the world to defeat Hitler and Japan!. At the beginning of 1945 there were four major powers in the World!. They were Hitler, Roosevelt, Chruchill and Stalin!. At the end of 1945 only Stalin was left because Hitler killed himself, Roosevelt died and Churchill was voted out of office!. So there was no one in the world to balance the power of Stalin at the time so he went a little wild!. I am not in anyway trying to excuse the actions of Stalin!. He did kill many people but in his mind he always had a reason wheather it was that they were thretening his power or that he just didn't trust them!. Stalin was a very paranoid man who killed members of his polit beurou every couple of years and shortly before WWII his officer corps because he didn't trust them and didn't want any of them around long enough to take his power!. There is one story I heard from a college History Professor who has studied WWII for over 40 years that I will now tell you because it really explains a lot about Stalin!. So in 1944 and 1945 Franklin Roosevelt was very sick so at Allied meetings Roosevelt, Stalin and Churchill would do business in the morning while Roosevelt could participate and pictures in the afternoon after which Roosevelt would go to bed until the next morning!. So one night Stalin and Churchill were drinking and talking with only the translator in the room!. When Churchill woke up in the morning he couldn't really remember what happened so he penned a note to Stalin saying something like "It was my understanding that last night we did not agree to anything or make any commitments!." A little bit later Stalin sent the note back with his response which said something like "That is my understanding of last night as well!. P!.S!. Dont worry Prime Minister I was drunk too P!.P!.S!. Dont worry the Translator has been shot!." Churchill thought that was funny until he learned that the translator had been shot!.
