Question: How much do you know about your City's history!?
I just answered a question that sparked my interest to look at my City website & it's fascinating!. It gave the entire history with pictures & everything!.

I live in Huntington Beach, CA!. It's known as "Surf City" because the waves are great!. Population is about 195,000!.

One thing I found interesting was that In 1941, the Navy commandeered the pier for submarine watch during World War II!. So weird to think of the pier like that!. It's all bustling with people & Ruby's Diner now!.

What about your City!? Anything interesting!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Battle of San Jacinto (where Texas won it's independece from Mexico) was fought about 15 min from my house!. 15 minutes in the other direction is mission control at the NASA!.

About a half hour south is Texas City, which had a famous fire in 1947!. And every day I drive by the Philips pasadena plant which also had a famous explosion in 1989!. I was actually less than a mile away from that one and saw/heard/felt it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My hometown,Las Vegas, NM (not nevada) is famous for being a wild west town!. At various periods of time it was home to Doc Holliday, Billy the Kid, Jesse James!. It was also a base of operation and recruitment for Teddy Roosevelt and his "Rough Riders!." There have also been many movies filmed there: Red Dawn, Vampires, Hi-Lo Country, No Country for Old Men!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I hate where I live and I'm saving up to move back out west!. So I really don't care about the history here!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
