Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Joan of Arc had those qualities --led men into battle, conquered the territories the English had taken from France!. We all know how she ended up, burned at the stake!.
Elizabeth I of England, highly intelligent, made England into a powerful nation!. Today people only remember her because of Shakespeare!.
Isabella of Castille, had the vision and wisdom to unify Spain, end feudalism and lay the foundations of an empire in the Americas, while her husband went hunting and drinking!. Yet history places them both on equal grounds!.
Queen Christina of Sweden, a patron of the arts, undertook her country's colonization of the New World, establishing settlements in Delaware and the Caribbean islands, one of the three women buried at St!. Peter's, in the Vatican!. Who remembers her today!?
And speaking of today, there's Benazir Bhutto, who gets blown up and is accused of leading a corrupt government in Pakistan, while Musharraf --equally or more corrupt, certainly less capable-- is alive and well!.
Women like Evita Peron and Cristina Kirchner of Argentina, Hillary Clinton in the US, have been called "calculating and ambitious" for seeking the same presidential office men aspire to all the time!. (I don't particularly like Hillary, I'm just making a point)
In conclusion, women can be and have been "glorious", but
different rules apply when they play the same games men play!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Something whereby she is not directly competing with men, or acting like a man!. I associate being "glorious" with something a man has achieved through physical bravery!. I'm not saying women could not be physically brave, but I believe that women can be glorious in other ways that suit them!. Women are natural nurturers making them great healers!. ie!. Madam Curie!. They are also good communicators so would make great leaders ie!. Elizabeth I!. There is a woman in my country that I really admire!. Her name is June Dally Watkins and she started out as a model in the 50's and then branched into running her own chain of successful modeling agencies and deportment schools which still run today!. Her belief is that women can live and work successfully whilst maintaining their femininity in a "man's world", but not behave like men!. I think that a woman who can do this is in a way "glorious"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think of people like cleopatra, elizabeth I, joan of arc when I think of historically glorious women!. The term glorious seemed to be associated with great beauties, religious devotees, and other attributes that were often then described as manly, yet "glorous" women used to their advantage and spun off in a feminine way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have been a member for only 2 or 3 weeks but I must say that was a great question and veg-hel gave the best response to a question I have read since joining!. Too bad she can't get more than 10 points for the answer!.

Few, if any men, could give as good an answer as veg-hel did possibly because the sexes interpret experiences differently!. Most men will give the obvious answers which will revolve around superficial qualities such as looks!.

I'll give an example I will never forget!. When my mom passed away 2 years ago this spring we asked one of her nieces, albeit not a niece from my mother's side of the family but one from my dad's side to give the lay eulogy!. She noted how my dad a built a successful business which would not have been possible without my mom raising us kids!. In the Limo to the cemetery my dad remarked he never would've thought of that and I agreed!. It took another woman to understand what an important role child rearing is!.

My cousin was close to my mom and I will always be grateful we selected her to give the eulogy rather than go the easier route and just pick one of my mom's blood relatives!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well, as an Israeli, let me give u an example from israel, golda meir was Israel's first (and only so far) female prime minister!. she was possibly the first female politician in the mid east, the second female prime minister on earth!.
Israel's founder David Ben Gurion said "she is the only man in government" this explains everything :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Elaine wants to have grace!. I think being glorious is all about the way you move and dress!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
