That is an area and period of history that nobody has reported , Vespasian once commented that south of the Roman Empire in Africa that they were all savages and cannibals , and only good for the arenaWww@QuestionHome@Com

No, in Central Africa the really populous places were near the Great Lakes of Africa!. The region known as the Congo didn't really have that many people!. Which is why 2000 tribes make up the nation today!. Their small populations (100,000 max per ethnic group) helped them avoid starvation!. also, disease and warfare played a part in keeping populations relatively stable!. Imperialism ended those trendsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Famines happened all over the world, but there was no TV and instant communication to tell about it!. And it happened on a lesser scale than today as the world population was no more than 300,000 millions at that time!. As the African civilisations left very little written records one cannot know how often famines hit that area!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think if that were true, given the nature of communications at the time, it would have largely gone unreported in Europe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, the reason why Africans are starving today is because of failed Socialism polices!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
