Question: What contribution(s) did the allies make towards the start of the arab-israeli conflict!?

Any particular conflict in mind!?
After WW2, Jews from around the world and especially survivors from Europe poured into Palestine!. The British were in charge but could do little to stop them arriving and were quickly driven out - so the Brits could have put more resources into blocking Jewish entry, if they had had the manpower and money after the war!.
The Jews were determined to reclaim their ancestral lands and make a state, so Jews could never again be slaughtered like the Nazis and Russians had slaughtered them!.

So!.
When the Jews announced their new state, the surrounding Muslim countries (Syria, Egypt in the main, also Lebanon and smaller contingents from elsewhere) announced their intention to kill every Jew until palestine was "clean" of them!.
the allies, especially the USA and Russia, had armed these "friendly" countries with tanks etc to get them on side and they expected to crush the comparatively lightly-armed Jews easily!.

Instead, the Jewish nation drove them back with great loss and established israel!. In subsequent clashes, Israel has beaten the Muslim states repeatedly and claimed more territory, with the result that these countries have had to abandon open warfare and promote terrorism instead, hiding behind civilian populations!. Except Egypt, which has accepted the right of Israel to exist!.

So the allies couldn't stop the Jews entering Palestine, couldn't stop finance getting through to them once there and although they armed the surrounding Arabs, were unable to stop the Jews beating them!.

Cheers, Steve!.
PS no, I am not Jewish!. Just call it like I see it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I doubt if the word contribution is the correct one to use but I think the Balfour Declaration !.
The Balfour Declaration
November 2, 1917

During the First World War, British policy became gradually committed to the idea of establishing a Jewish home in Palestine (Eretz Yisrael)!. After discussions in the British Cabinet, and consultation with Zionist leaders, the decision was made known in the form of a letter by Arthur James Lord Balfour to Lord Rothschild!. The letter represents the first political recognition of Zionist aims by a Great Power!.

Was one of the main causes but only one of them!. The whole distribution of land in the Middle Eadt by the great powers like France and England at the beginning of the 20th century has also an impact!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
