I think the one you're looking for is A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn!. A very important book!. Highly recommend it!. It just changed the way of the history writing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There's a great book called "Don't Know Much About History!." I've had it for years, and a few years ago I was hired to grade state proficiency tests in history--I took it to work for a reference for the group, and boy, did it come in handy!

It's in the format of a Q & A--Why did we fight the War of 1812!?, Who was Harriet Tubman!?, What was the Trail of Tears!?, etc!. It gives about a 1-2 page answer to each, and it's written in a way that's easy to understand!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

One of the ones that I enjoyed was "The People's History of the United States" (1980) by Howard Zinn!. It gives a lot of "other views" of historical events!. It's worth a read!Www@QuestionHome@Com
