Question: Why was Tsar Nicholas II executed in 1918 and how does this relate to the revolt in Animal Farm!?
I am doing a paper on how Animal Farm portrays the Russian Revolution accurately and I would love any input!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
He was executed because he was the great symbolic enemy of the revolution!. He was the "oppressor" that the people wanted to defeat!.
also, his execution (and that of his family) ensured that there would be no direct line to ever restore the monarchy in Russia!.

He would, in essence, be the equivalent of the farmer in Animal Farm!. His death would symbolize the freedom for the people/animals!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It doesn't relate to it!. Orwell was too dishonest to put it in!.
What is more, there is no Lenin figure in Animal Farm!.
Finally, the point is made that the USSr was just the same as the capitalists!. No - it was far, far worse!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

"executions" are performed, either rightly or wrongly, by read governments!. The Romanovs were murdered by Communists who were in the process of taking over the legitimate government of Russia which was formed when the Czar abdicated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
