What Bill said isn't exactly true!. Religious views were questioned during this time and such people as Luther stood up to the mainstream church and state!. I believe Bill is confused!.!.!. what he is referring to is the Enlightment, which is based upon "getting away from religious views" and establishing a moral liberal society in such ways as science and the like!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

At the time of the Protestant reformation there were no Democracies to influence!. After the reformation democratic institutions came into vogue!. If you restate your question, one could say that, The reformation allowed for scientific and philosophical breakthroughs which allowed for democratic institution to flower!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
