They ate hardtack biscuits that they brought with them, and livestock which was confiscated from all of the farms that they passed through!. The foraging troops were known as "bummers" and to this day, a real bummer is a bad thing!. By the time that they reached Savannah, they had more livestock than when they started!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
