Creativity idea, if you don't want to put a whole lot of work into it:
Build a cardboard model of the pyramid, cover it in glue and pour sand all over it!. Not your flimsy cereal box-type cardboard - I mean the "sandwhich" cardboard [has a wavy-type line between two flat pieces]!. How to make the paper model:

First off, a pyramid has 5 sides: 4 triangles and one square - the base!. To make the base is easy, make a square of 40x40 centimeters!.
Next is the triangles!.!.!. to get it 40 cm high, you must visualize the side of the pyramid as a triangle, with a line from the top point of the triangle to the center of the bottom edge!. Use a2+b2=c2 to find the length of that the mysterious diagonal line [the height the triangles should be to make up the sides of the pyramid]!. In this case, since you now have made a right triangle [remember - think 2-Dimensional for now], take the bottom left [or right] edge, which is 20 cm!. Make that A!. Then take the the longer vertical line [which we agreed was 40 cm [heighth of the pyramid] and make that B!. Now square both A and B and you should have for now:
202+402=c2 Do the work for that and you should end up with C is about 44!.72 cm!.now you know the height of the triangle for each side of the pyramid!.!.!.
To make the pattern for the paper pyramid: draw the 40x40 square!. On each edge of the square in the middle, draw a perpendicular line about 44!.75 cm [44 centimeters plus 7 and a half of the millimeter lines], then connect the tip of the new line to the two corners/ends of the square edge you drew it off of!. Repeat 3 more times until you have a triangle made for each side of the square!.
You may either hot glue the sides together or tape them together with "awesome" tape - not scotch!. Seriously!.
Now comes the fun part - getting dirty!. Cover one section of the triangle in glue [not thinly, but not too thick either] and lay that triangle level-y - pour sand over the glued area, let dry!. Return to the pyramid, repeat process until each pyramid side is covered!. No need to do the bottom, it won't be seen!.

If you want to make it a little more artistic, you could carve into the cardboard some brick-like "layering" lines, then brush on the glue to get into the cracks - make sure the glue isn't thick in those areas, otherwise the cracks/layering lines will be covered up!.

Hope that helps!. :DWww@QuestionHome@Com
