It would have to be between The two best leaders of men during The late 18Th century, and early 19Th century, one at sea, Lord Admiral Horatio Nelson, and his land rival, the Iron Duke himself, Sir Arthur Wellesley, The Duke of Wellington!.!.!.
I suppose I would have to choose, just about, Lord Admiral Horatio Nelson, for possibly the greatest naval victory ever, the most complete victory at sea, against two powerful enemies, France+Spain, on the 21st of October 1805!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've long liked Aaron Burr, the founding father who is reviled for having killed Alexander Hamilton, but who was also a hero of the revolution, a US Senator from New York, and who was also elected President in 1800!

In the election of 1800, Burr and Jefferson both received 73 electoral votes!. The Elections commission didn't know what to do, so they sent the matter to the US Supreme Court!. The Court (wisely) refused to hear the matter as it was a political and not the law at heart!. The results then went to the House of Representatives who took 47 votes before choosing a winner - Jefferson!.

The US Constitution originally had the person with the most electoral votes become President, and the person with the second-most votes become vice president!. So Aaron Burr was the third Vice President!. It was during this administration (July, 1804) that the famous Burr-Hamilton duel was fought, and Burr's reputation ruined!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
