And, the invasion of Panama by the US was not a declared war, as Pearl Harbor was not!. The fact of the matter Germany in the years 1933 to 1945 were anything but allies to the US/Great Britain!. Only after the war and the removal of Germany's fascist regime did "West" Germany become an ally of the US/UK!. Perhaps, you are not aware of the killing of millions of innocents by Hitler in the concentration camps or the mass murder of Poles and Soviets!. Had Hitler not been stopped, large portions of Europe and world would be living in fear!. World War 2 was fought by EVERYONE - not just blue collar guys!. Everyone from all walks of life were drafted by the US Government and the universities emptied of men who joined the military!. Sp all your statements are just wrong!. The idea that "blue collar" guys are fight in war - well let me tell you, after 9/11 many of my friends who worked on Wall Street, quit there job and joined the armed forces!. Many of them ended up in the Special Forces!. Some of these guys were making $200,000 a year but had friends die in the WTC!. Yes, today's US military is a volunteer force and many who joined did so for economic reasons (especially before 9/11), but I disagree with your statement!. Without their sacrifice our present world would have been impossible!. Many wars are fought for economic advantage, but that is not the only factor!.
