As a student teacher (majoring in history), I would say that if you mention the camps, you need to find out what it was like in the camps, what surviviors said about the camps!. If you talk about the start of the war then you must talk about the end of it, so you should probably end it with the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki!.
Good luck, it sounds like it will be a good essay, and you have put some thought into it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The reason no Japanese were interned in Hawaii was because Hawaii wasn't a state yet, it was only a territory, so our government had no say on how to run the general population!.
You should swap your 4th Paragraph with your 3rd, better to tell why Japan wanted to Attack US first( Para!. 3 should be about all the events leading up to Dec!. 7), then tell how they carried it out (paragraph 4 should just be about Dec!. 7-8, 1941)!.
Your 5th should be why the US government found it necessary to intern Japanese American citizens!.
6th should be about what life was like living in an internment camp!.
7th should be your conclusion, give your opinion about the events at Pearl Harbor and the internment camps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Shroomie has a good idea for paragraph 6, and for paragraph 7 you might talk about how ironic it was that while the Japanese Americans in California and Oregon and Washington (and also in Peru!) were interned, the Japanese living in Hawaii were NOT in any way segregated by the Federal government!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The sixth could be about conditions of the camp, and what the Japanese were required to do while in the camp, and how their live went on in there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

6th could be why they wre imprisoned and not the German Americans!? The reason is Japan attack us, and they can be picked out of a group in the U!.S!.!. 7 is a conclusion where you put the whole thing back together!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the 6th could be how the imprisonment affected the Japanese after the war!. Many Japanese lost their property and were without money after they were freed!.
the 7th could be why the US dropped the A bombWww@QuestionHome@Com

Might want to do a paragraph about Iwo Jima, then end it with a paragraph about Hiroshima/Nagasaki and the peace treatyWww@QuestionHome@Com
