Male slaves were put to work doing hard manual labor, while female slaves were usually reserved to do household chores, being a nanny, etc!.!.!.!.and also served as sex slaves!. Many people don't know about this dark side of slavery (as opposed to a non-existent bright side!?!?!?)!.!.!.!.!.but the duty of many female slaves was to have sex with their white owners!.!.!.!.and was quite common!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because of their sex!. Many of the female slaves were raped!.!.!.and oftentimes the male slave owner would intentionally employ the female slave in the home (as a housekeeper, nanny, etc!.) to keep them close, and therefore more accessible in terms of sex!.
also, pregnant slaves were not put in the fields because they would be giving birth to essentially a free slave--a plus for a slave owner, who wanted as many slaves for as little cost as possible!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Women were much more like to do domestic chores!.!.!.housecleaning, cooking, child rearing, etc!., while the men did the physical labor out in the fields!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
