I would say Mesopotamia or present day Iraq!.
Conquered by Trajan, abandoned by Hadrian AD 117!.
After that, the Romans captured the capital several times, but gave it up!. They had a large area of northern Iraq but gave it up in 363 as part of a peace settlement!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
