I'm talking about the generation that were 18-30 years old during World War II!. Sometimes I think that having another depression would make Americans more humble and more appreciative!. Or do you think that little green men from Mars were the cause!? I think that the people who grew-up in the Great Depression knew what it meant to REALLY have to earn something!. They knew how it felt to REALLY want to work, but not be able to find a job!. They knew what it was like to struggle and save!. Making dresses out of potato sacks and trying to make everything they had last!. Most Americans wouldn't eat soup every night with more broth than meat or vegetables - maybe even without any meat! Be thankful for enough flour to make a loaf of bread!. Use an old bed-sheet to make a doll or a slip to go under your skirt!. Do you know what a stick horse is!? My children still play with stick horses and skipping ropes, marbles and chalk, jacks and toy soldiers!. Why are our children suffering from ADHD and lacking hand-eye coordination, or fine and gross motor control!? Why don't they have any imagination!? Why are they lazy and lacking in self-control!? Why do they have to have everything now!? Why do they think that they have the right to be fed and clothed even if they don't do a day's work in their lives!? If you don't HAVE to actually earn something, why should you bother!? If everyone is standing there with a free hand-out, why should you work!? The old games develop MUCH needed skills and that bloody TV set is the closest thing to Satan, in my Atheist opinion!. Every little, stupid thing that enters someone's mind is broadcast and people aren't being taught how to discern fact from fabrication!. We are getting ready to go through it again!. Send your thank-you letters to Mr!. Bush Jr!. By allowing companies to bombard you with advertising and giving them a free-hand, he has encouraged Americans to go so far into debt that they will never again see the light of day!. Then, you cannot pay and companies start going under after so many people cannot pay them back!. It is a down-ward spiral that will not be stopped by starting a war in some foreign country!. He should have known better!. Those tactics are old and don't work in a global economy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
