Texas also produced, and refined a great deal of crude oil during the war years!. Both contributions towards the war effort were substantial!. I can bet that there were many more contributions from Texas than just the two examples I gave you!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Many German POW's were sent to Texas because there was a German population in Texas and it was far enough away from industrial areas of the NE!. The German-Texans spoke German and were used as interpreters amoung other things!.
