Question: During the Cold War!?

the us was against the soviets, but if it were to happen today who would be our opponets!? im not sure about this, i was thinking either Iran or China right!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

if it was now!.!.i think the countires that dont like the US
and the allies of the soviet union such as china, southeast asia, romania, poland, bulgaria, albania and the other countires that were in the warsaw pact!. not czechoslovakia becuase now that is split into 2 countries!.

It was not only the Soviet Union but the Warsaw Pact (Poland, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria) plus China and North Korea and then North Vietnam and then all of Vietnam and then Cambodia as well!. It was common knowledge that China and Russia were uneasy allies (they have a relatively bad history together), and for many years there was talk of the President playing the "China card" or the "Russian card" to separate these two allies even more!. Nixon opted for the China card, which did defuse tensions, but China is in no sense a friend of ours!. I believe Russia would make a good ally!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
