Question: Why did some monastic orders arrive in britain sooner after their founding than others!?

Most likely it was due to the fact that some of the Belief systems lent themselves more to the 'English' mentality and "island' thinking!.
of special note: there is one order of Monks and Nun that was an exclusively English one: The Gilbertine Order!.
Started in the 1100's by a Gilbert (Jocelin) of Semperingham!. the order lasted until it was outlawed by one of the King Henrys'(cant remember which one off the top of my head!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Britain gets two waves of Christianity!. The first comes via the "Celtic Church", the other, much later, comes via the Roman Catholic Church, as the formally Pagan Angles and Saxons adopt Catholicism and spread it throughout Britain!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
