How important were ORACLES IN ANCIENT GREECE?

Question: How important were ORACLES IN ANCIENT GREECE!?

I want to understand why the oracles advice was so respected and who were these people that contributed to the making of a great empire!. Were they members of the ruling classes!? I wonder why the oracle at Delphi was a woman!? Did the oracles meet first with the more influential citizens before delivering an advice!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well i don't know a lot but the Oracles were very respected because they were derived from the goddess of nature and fertility and also because the King relied on them for their future!. The Kings went to see them to see if they have kept the gods happy or not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
