None of these answers are very good!. Did a teacher pose you this question!? It's a pretty crooked and half-thought question if you ask me!.

For starters, the Vietnam War created an interesting situation in that American industry was throttle forward by the production of the necessities of war!. Factories were churning out merchandise, and employment was pretty-much full capacity!. There was an enormous advance in social and economic progress by creating an almost fully employed labor market!. Full employment brought with it higher wages, better working conditions, and less job discrimination against women, African Americans, and other minorities!.

On the other hand, the US government was spending at far too high of a pace, and this began to create inflationary forces!. There was a very real need to cut back government spending, and this did not happen!. Thus, economic problems began to grip the country in the 1970s!. Interest rates started to rise, businesses found it harder to gain access to funding, and before too long our nation was about to crash land into the Carter years with double digit inflation and lines at the gas pump!.

I'd have to go with A if I were choosing an answer here, but I don't like the question!.
