What scientists found was that in the making of the Titanic, they used material that wasn't as good as it should have been!. They found they only used steel rivets on sections of the hull that they thought was going to have the most stress, and on the rest, they used a lower grade of rivet - which ws made of low quality iron!. Six seams broke when the iceberg crashed into the ship, and because the rivets that were used were a weaker type of metal, the ship sank much faster than it should have!. In fact, if they had been able to used the higher quality steel rivets on the whole hull, the people would have been able to wait on the ship for help and be rescued!Www@QuestionHome@Com
