What the Industrial Revolution when millions of craftsmen were thrown out of work by cheap mass-produced articles!. When masses of people were crowded into unsanitary conditions to work in the dangerous, polluting mines and mills!?

Every time in history has its good and bad points and if you are young,wealthy and healthy you can tolerate a lot more than if you are old, poor and infirm - especially if you are a member of the ruling Establishment and not a slave!.

For me it would have to be somewhere warm and peaceful with a good climate and a healthy diet!. Possibly Spain during the Caliphate!. Strangely enough perhaps in the light of the current century Muslim rule in Spain was extremely enlightened and tolerant!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
