For the Brits and Canucks, 18 was the legal age but they also accepted 15 with parental consent but usually skipped that step and just accepted 15 year old kids!. For the Navy it was 18 and 12 with parental consent!. also for the Canucks 21 was the conscription (draft) age!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In America, in 1917 the Selective Service Act required Americans aged 21 - 30 to register for the draft, by 1918, that number was expanded to include 18 - 45 years of age!.
During 1918, all entrants to the military were by draft, because voluntary enlistment had been abolished!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
