Since 1945, leftists have been frantically labelling fascism a 'right wing' ideology!.
But the facts do not support this!.
Fascism was 'invented' by Benito Mussolini and others who were all members of the Italian socialist party!.
Fascism advocated collectivism in the sense of national and/or racial unity!. Collectivism being a left wing thing obviously!.

I personally find this left wing right wing thing to be annoying and would simnply prefer a nice bucket of spicy Buffalo wings!. But yes when defining Socialism as a system wherein the Government takes care of its citizens from cradle to grave then yes Hitler's concept was Socialist!. In fact taking into account both Hitler and Himmler's obsessions one could argue that the Nazis were pre-cradle in that they were interested in breeding blond haired blue eyed Germans organizing/encouraging marriages, rewarding women for birthing blond haired blue eyed babies, and as for the Grave part the Nazis were quite efficient in putting people in their graves!.
Lost amidst Hitler's own oft told take of his struggling years as a young artists on the mean streets of Vienna was the very real fact that Hitler benifitted from a survivors pensions due to his father's civil service work and a few historians argue that Hitler actually had a decent wage in the form of a pension and that any struglling was due to the usual mismanagement men in their late teens early twenties expereince when thrust out in the World on their own!.
But for good or bad, no matter how much may wish to view Hitler as a Monster, Hitler did believe in a system wherein the Government took care of its citizens from cradle to grave and to his credit the 'Strength through Joy' program was one of the few times when the State, any State, took time to consider how best to keep its workers content and to give them that little extra such as concerts & travel & leisure although that said those same workers were expected to enjoy what Hitler prescribed for them; his opinion on art, movies, leisure activities and so forth!.
By the way Hitler did not merely denounce Jewish Bolshevism, he clearly viewed the West as Decadent especially France and Britain and in many of his speeches admonished Britain & France for not doing anything for their workers one speech in particular was meant to convey to German workers how lucky they were to be working in Germany and not France & Britain with Hitler citing how pennioners especially in Britain were often reduced to living in penury dependent on family members for shelter & food!. Hitler for all his appeals to Youth and disdain for the Old actually encouraged Youth to see to their elder's comfort in their reclining/declining years!.
Final Word - - - Hitler viewed himself not as Germany's Father, but rather as Kindly Uncle/Onkel Adolf, that sweet gentle relative who indulged nephews & nieces with a coin or more!.

Fascinsm has been labelled as a right-wing system for a couple of reasons you seem to have missed!. First, Hitler came to power by exploiting the fear of communism, and he closely allied himself with other rabid anti-communists such as Franco!. In addition, while Germany under the Nazi regime certainly could be characterized as socialist, it also catered to the industrial capitalists!. The extreme nationalism and aggressive expansionism of the Fascists also resonates a great deal more with the typical politics of the right-wing, as opposed to the typical pacifist, internationalism of the left!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What made Hitler and Nazism popular was that it promised something to everyone!. They made promises of welfare, expanded public works with government jobs for the unemployed, free health care, ect!. They even promised more funding for education!. Sound anything like American politics today!? How about how European countries like France and Sweden today!? These socialist promises appealed to the German poor and unemployed!. At the same time, the Hitler & the Nazis made promises to the German aristocracy and wealthy!. Government contracts were awarded to their factories and policies were put in place that keep the wealthy in power and with a monopoly on parts of the economy!. They were anti-communist in that the wealthy feared a revolution like what happened in Russia and these programs of the Nazis were to keep everyone happy so a communist revolution didn't break out!. Small business and capitalism was not banned in Germany, just hard for the little guy to succeed in business as the government supported big business!. Hitler claimed that their system was the right balance between Communism and Lazzie-Fair Capitalism!.
