Question: What contributed to the "Era of Good Feelings" during James Monroe's presidency!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
The Federalist Party self-destructed!. The resolution of the War of 1812 in Monroe's last term had discredited the New England Federalists to the extent that they were ineffectual in the election of 1816!. Madison appointed members of both parties to patronage positions, so he was effectively unopposed in the election of 1820!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
