A louis riel question.. pls answer if u know him well, thanks?

Question:ok so loius riel, somw think of him as a traitor, and some as a hero. i think of him as a hero because i think he did what he thought was right, so im wandering... if you find him a heor, can u pls tell me why.. just list all the reasons.. and explain them. thanks so much.. to points

Okay, well, I didn't know Louis Riel personally, but in my books, he was a hero. He tried to take a stand against a bureaucracy that threatened the Metis way of life. He fled to the US and could have remained there in safety, but when he was elected, he felt obligated to return and continue the fight. And the rest, sadly, is history. I think Riel should be honored as one of Canada's heroes.

If you think he's a hero, then write about why YOU think he's a hero. You must have some reason, not just 'oh, hes a hero because he is'

but if you can't think of any reasons just write why you think he's NOT a traitor.
