Question:and Why did they win?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: and Why did they win?

no one won. it was a stale mate.

seeing as both America and Russia are still here, neither won.

however-- if one HAD to choose a "winner" it would probably be America since in essence they were fighting against Russia's communism, and as we know, the USSR no longer exists, and Russia is no longer a communist country

but like i said, technically, NOBODY won the cold war.

none won .lol

I guess that you can say that Nato won because the cold war ended with the end of the Soviet Union.

I guess you could say the United States and the West won the Cold War because the Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991. This was due to the failure of communism worldwide, the political collapse inside the U.S.S.R., the downfall of the Soviet economy, the vast superiority of American technology and weapons by the 1980s, and the pro-Democratic sentiment and revolutions in the USSR, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Germany opposing Soviet influence and power.

The cold war was between the Soviet Union and America . The Soviet Union is no more , while America remains the leading Nation of the world . Who would you say won ?

John Paul II won the war against the comunism. He worked "under the table", as always in history, to destroy the official way of thinking in those countries. It would be good if the Vatican think about "working" in Cuba, Bolivia, Venezuela and Ecuator. But there's to much money in between yet. Drugs are a powerful tool to have those ideologies floating and financing the "under table work".

Capitalism beat out Communism because of the military industrial complex. The Communist countries today are mostly just factories for the west. Lenin and Mao are spinning in their graves.
