He shot himself because the Red (USSR) Army was closing in, and they, like the German Army, had "political officers" whose job it was to find and identify the "criminals" that started the war. Hitler knew he would have been tortured, caged humiliated, tried in public, and eventually executed as a criminal (not as a soldier) so he committed suicide.

He could never have ruled the whole world. As formidable as the Wehrmacht (German Army) was, they could not fight one war on the Eastern Front, one war on the Western Front, and still another war in Italy and Southern France! Only the US could fight multiple "wars" at the same time and win them all.

Hitler probably would have eventually ruled the world I think if he was that smart to get Germany or shall I say most of Europe he would have gotten the world eventually Report It

  • I believe the Allies would have never let that happen. If he hadn't killed himself, we would have done it for him.

No. His empire was defeated. Had he lived he would have been tried for war crimes and eventually executed. He was aware of this and that is why he chose to end his life.

I think Hitler was regarded as too volatile a leader, even by some of those who followed him.

Subordinates had already tried to kill him before the time of his death.

I think had he not killed himself someone else would have done him the favor before too much longer...

    hitler shooted himself?

    hehe

He certainly tried but he proved himself incapable

By the time Hitler shot himself, Germany had been so abjectly defeated in the war that there was no hope of him for him even being a dogcatcher.

He had Italy and Japan as Allies. If he had stopped "annexing" land before he took Poland, he would have been fine.

Would he have ruled the world? Better men have tried and failed. Alexander the Great is a notable example.

No one can rule the world. It is too big. Even the Roman Empire collapsed when it over-extended its boundaries and left its trade-routes vulnerable.

Hitler shot himself to keep from having been taken prisoner. The Japanese were certainly not interested in helping an insane meglo-manic member of the Alpine sub-race rule the world.
