Franklin d. Roosevelt was President during WW2, not WW1. Theodore Roosevelt was president from 1901-1909. He was not president during WW1, the president at that time was Woodrow Wilson.

Uh... two different Roosevelts served during each war.

You have different Rosevelts - it was Teddy for WWI and Franklin for WWII.

And, yes, Franklin knew that Pearl Harbour would be attacked. In fact, a Captain named Billy Mitchell told the Army that it would be attacked simply because of it's position (he got court-martialled for saying so- read the book called, "The Court Martial of Billy Mitchell").

Franklin knew that America had to get into the war or they would be fighting Nazis on their home front. So he allowed Pearl Harbour to happen to enrage the American people into getting into the war.

It worked.

I just want to point out that Teddy Roosevelt didn't serve as prez during WWI, though he did have some influence

Roosevelt was Pres during WW2 only, and no he did not know they would attack. The conspiracy would have to be vast. What certainly ruins the Conspiracy theory is that we had radar on Oahu and they spotted the Japanese planes, the soldiers manning the radar thought they were our planes. If Roosevelt wanted the surprise attack, he would not have had the radar there in the first place.
Billy Mitchell was thought to be crazy. He happened to be right, of course in hindsight. Similar to the people who today are saying we should attack Iran before they come after us, we generally thinks they're kooks, but if in 5 years Iran attacks us history will then prove them right.

FDR did everything in his power to provoke an attack by either the Japs or the Germans.

WW1 & WW2
United States Presidents:

WW1 -
Woodrow Wilson - Twenty-Eighth President - 1913-1921
(World War One went from 1914 to 1918.)

WW2 -
Franklin D. Roosevelt - Thirty-Second President - 1933-1945
(World War Two went from 1939 to 1945.)

As someone pointed out ... two different Roosevelts.

He knew that Japan was planning something, and it seemed clear that if they were going to attack us, Pearl Harbor would be the most likely target. But the Japanese were also making aggressive moves toward the Aleutian Islands and the Philippines.

In preparation for a possible strike at Pearl, our aircraft carriers were frequently kept at sea. In fact, there were no US aircraft carriers at Pearl during the attack (a fact which seriously yanked Yamamoto's chain). Many of the ships stationed at Pearl were older vessels, many dating from before WWI and considered nearly obsolete. However, several were re-floated, re-fitted (for the final time) and sent into battle. A lot of older aircraft were also stationed at Pearl.

However, the attack at Pearl came as a bit of a surprise to the troops stationed there, and the damage was greater than expected due to our inexcusable underestimation of Japan's capabilities. Pearl Harbor was a lesson we took quite seriously, and we were careful to not underestimate the Japanese again.

Overall, I believe Roosevelt knew something was coming, but do not believe he intentionally sacrificed Pearl to the Japanese in order to spur the US into battle, all hindsight aside.

Defeating Nazism was not the immediate goal of American intervention. The goal was to have a long, devastating and lucrative war, leading to greater concentration of power in their hands through the Cold War and world government (the European Union and the United Nations.)

In the 1930s, the American people learned how the Illuminati bankers had maneuvered the US into World War One for great profit. Congress passed a battery of legislation to prevent this from happening again. British PM Neville Chamberlain called the US Congress "pig headed and self righteous nobodies."

Thus the Illuminati had to change public opinion before FDR could commit the US to war. Their main weapon was the mass media, literally owned by the central bankers or controlled by advertising from their cartels.

In 1940, publications owned by the central bankers and their front men included The New York Herald Tribune, The New York Times, PM, The Chicago Sun, The Cowles Group (Look), Time Life, The Washington Post and the Baltimore Sun. All were decidedly for intervention. Hollywood also produced war propaganda. Alexander Korda, director of "Lady Hamiliton" and "The Lion has Wings" was a British agent. Public opinion polls were rigged or edited to give Americans the impression they favored intervention. For example, a British agent David Ogilvy put out the Gallup polls.

After the war, the Rockefeller's Council on Foreign Relations ensured that official histories of American intervention were written. They did not want a repeat of the embarrassing revelations of how the US was tricked into World War One.

Wars are orchestrated to eventually produce Illuminati world government. As the Masonic leader Albert Pike wrote in 1871, the third world war will be between the "political Zionists and Islam." Translated, that means the US and Israel versus Iran and possibly China and Russia. www.savethemales.ca/000546.html

Americans are being frogmarched to the next world war. The present period might be compared to the 1930's when both sides armed and rehearsed. The final conflagration, possibly in 2010-2012, would eliminate a large number of "useless eaters."

I may be a "history nerd" but you should try and read a book. "Cause like, you know Roosevelt wasn't the President during WW 1 - not like, you know was his Uncle Teddy, like you know Uncle Teddy was President in 1901 thru like 1909". World War I was fought between 1914 - 1918 - American involvement began in 1917.

While I find it disturbing that you thought FDR was the President during the first world war - I do agree that FDR knew something was in the works before Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. FDR needed something like Pearl Harbor to happen to get the US in the war - because the majority of Americans didn't want war.

The REAL question should be - what would of happened if the Germany did not declare war on the United States after Pearl Harbor?

Even though Germany and Japan had signed the Tripartite (with Italy), Germany could of backed out of that. There was nothing signed by the Allies that stated if Japan attacked the US - the US automatically declares war on the Germany, Italy and Japan. However, Hitler's decision to honor the tripartite agreement led to US involvement in Europe - and ultimately Hitlers destruction.

It's really an interesting scenario - Hitler really made a huge mistake by declaring on the US. Would FDR been able to convince the American people to fight Germany in Europe AFTER Pearl Harbor. American outrage was primarily toward Japan - not Germany. At the very least, US involvement in the European theater would of been delayed 6 months, a year, 2 years - who knows? Take the fact that Britain was on the ropes back in 1940 and 1941 - what would of happened if the US directed 80% of it's power to fight Japan.

"My Evil Twin" is exactly correct.
'Something' was going to happen and the chance that the (they presumed) poorly trained, poorly equipped Japanese could actually inflict real damage would have been thought to be very low.

The British continued to underestimate the Japanese for a few more weeks but the sinking of HMS Prince of Wales and the fall of Singapore fixed that.

edit:
Mike D is quite correct too. I've often thought that history would be very different if you could go back in time and say any one of the following to Hitler (and he believed you).

"Don't declare war after Pearl"
"Put the effort into Atomic bombs not V weapons"
"D-Day is at Normandy not Pas-de-Calais"
"Don't fight Russia in winter"

To all not just the one asking the question. The 1st Roosevelt (Teddy) did not serve during world war 1, Wilson did. Teddy served from 1901-1908, a full decade before the war! Though we were not fighting the war before Pearl Harbor, we were involved, sending supplies to the allies, putting embargo or all together stopping supplies to the axis powers and we loaned a ton of money to the allies. No one had any idea that it was going to happen. Their is some speculation that the intelligence people heard thru their spying of the axis powers that there was going to be some sort of move against us, they had no idea when, where or that it would be so overt. As for getting us out of the depression, yes WW2 got us out of the depression, but us helping the allies before Pearl Harbor and the bulking up of the military was already helping with that. Typical conspiracy theorist American. It can't be just a horrible thing that happened, our government must have planned it or at least let it happen so that others could benefit. You probably think that Bush planned 9/11 so that we could go to Iraq for oil. I am not one to say that our government is perfect or that they dont do some pretty crappy things, but come on, have some faith (and common sense) in our government!
